As I have mentioned it in the previous post, I am planning to host a Game of Thrones watching marathon on Saturday with friends. And what is it that you can’t miss from a cinema?
Popcorn boxes!
So, let me show you what I have just done!
And this is how i did them (or, in other words: this is how to do these):
I needed these:
Nothing special, just scissors, glue, pencil, rulers.
I love GoT concept art so I downloaded pictures from the internet (you can find them all over the place). I wanted to use the coats of arms of the big houses in the story. I chose the biggest ones: Stark, Lannister, Baratheon, Targaryen and Arryn- 5, since I’m expecting four friends. I printed them out to a nice paper and voilá’! Then I got carboard paper in matching colours.
Then, I made the the popcorn base. (much counting and playing with the rulers if you don’t have a template…so go and download one from somewhere
)
Then I cut everything out, both the base and the pictures. I used two pictures for each box.
Before you would ask: I joined the two halves and made one long template so I could save some time. By joining the four pieces, I didn’t have to cut so much and glue so much. What is more, I used less paper.
The next step was to glue the pictures on the box templates. No picture here.
Then, I just glued the boxes together. It’s very easy. Sometimes I used double-sided glue when I wanted to keep the process (and the boxes) clean.
And here are some more pictures about the commpleted boxes. I find them quite big (but we love popcorn, so that’s not a problem at all). The black one was the first I did and I made some mistakes, so I tried to hide it on the pfotos..
Tell me how do you like them? Would you make them? Naturally, you can make these movie-themed boxes for any film you like. Just get some friends and enjoy the marathon!
